Skiptrace Graffiti
All graffiti art is transient art, existing only until the city sends over the cleaning crew. With Skiptrace Graffiti we embrace that transience, drawing with light instead of paint, using the camera's long exposure setting. No computer effects are applied to these images. It's an art form that disappears with the dawn, existing only as a snapshot of that moment in time and space.
The Skiptrace team consisted of Edward Ayala, Ryan Notch, Kyle Notch, and Tom MacLaughlin. Mainly showing in the Fu Collective Art Gallery in Denver.

It started when my friend Ed came into some money from a lawsuit, and decided to go on a shopping spree at Best Buy. He was picking out a camera and I noticed one had a setting for long exposures. I remembered a short film I'd seen once called The Black Record, I think it was by Alex Proyas (of The Crow). It had all kinds of light drawing and I said "Dude, get this one, I have some ideas." Some of these techniques used below we got from there, some we invented.
